Terrific article. I have two parrots…a lesser crested sulphur cockatoo I’ve loved going on 28 years, and an African Grey, 13 years old, had her for the last two. Both are my love and joy! Both talk like humans! The other night I got up late to get something to eat, making, I guess, too much noise for my cockatoo. She said, “What are you doing good boy”? I said, “I’m getting something to eat…do you want some”? There was a pause, and she replied, “let’s go to sleep, OK”? The foods mirror what I have fed my birds for their regular diet. Would you believe I just read a famous bird food companys’ warning to never feed parrots seeds, fruits or people food. Mine are healthy, happy and love their diet. Guess I won’t be buying any of that company’s food pellets…talk about expensive!

      Hi Charles,
First we would love to see your parrots. I’m very amazed to see them talking like this. You can post your birds on our FaceBook Page, so others will see them. (As matter of appreciation).
As you know, its a marketing world. Everyone wants to sell their stuff. Maybe they were very frustrated from their sales graph, going downwards and started negative campaign. We all know natural things are always good. So don’t listen to these parrot food companies and do what really work best in past for you.
      Have a good day… 🙂
