History of Love Birds

The native origin of the love birds is Africa and its surrounding islands. In the late 20th century it was imported to the America. These are found in variety of colors and types. A kind of these love birds is known as African Love birds. They are from Africa and Madagascar. It has nine species. These are all small and very simply gorgeous birds.

Appearance of the Love Birds

Baby Love Birds

Lovebirds are called hardy birds and do not need to keep up warm all the time. They cannot survive in freezing environment. They are very sensitive. Due to this temperament they need clean surroundings. It must be tidy and hygienic. It is very important to provide them clean and fresh water after short periods of time. The surrounding environment plays an important role in the improving the lifespan if they are given healthy diet.

Lovebird survives on healthy food that consists of insect larva, fruit, berries and seeds in wild. They like crop pests on maze and millet. At home they should be given 2% hempseed, 2% Linseed, 3% Oats, 4% Buckwheat, 4% Safflower, 5%Japanese millet, 9% peeled oats, 10% white millet, 18% Canary Seed, 40% Yellow millet.
